So, you want to know what it takes to have an amazing relationship with your sibling? Well, take a look at the legendary bond between Marie Osmond and her brother, Donny Osmond. There’s something special about their connection, and Marie let us in on the secret.
In an exclusive chat with Closer Weekly, Marie Osmond, now 59, revealed what makes her relationship with Donny so unique. “There’s this thing called DNA that kind of forces you to be close,” she joked. “Donny and I have so much shared history together. Even though we’ve both had our own careers—me doing my thing for years and him doing his—we’re still family. That bond is unbreakable.”
Marie went on to explain how rare it is for siblings in the entertainment world to achieve what they’ve done together. “You know, I was talking to a friend the other day, and I said, ‘I really don’t see any other brother-sister duo out there who’ve done the things we’ve done.’ Even Michael and Janet Jackson didn’t perform together or record together. Honestly, the only other act that comes close is The Carpenters,” she shared. She then added humorously, “We joke around and I’ve said this joke before, but I told Donny, ‘You could learn a lot from Richard Carpenter, because he never speaks.’”

Marie and Donny’s long-running Las Vegas residency is coming to an end this November after more than a decade. “I think people come to enjoy the last 11 years at Flamingo because everyone has a sibling. Can you imagine working with your sibling for 11 years?” Marie teased. “It’s been an incredible journey, but all good things must come to an end.”
Marie, known for her hit song “Paper Roses,” recently joined the ladies on The Talk, becoming the newest member of the CBS talk show panel. When asked if Donny might join her on TV now that their Vegas show is wrapping up, she laughed and said, “I don’t think he has the vocabulary for it.”
