Get ready for a week of family bonding on national television! Jenna Bush Hager’s husband, Henry Hager, is stepping into the spotlight as the latest cohost of the Jenna & Friends segment on the Today show. This isn’t just another day at the office—it’s family week, and the Hager clan is bringing their A-game.
Jenna, 43, couldn’t contain her excitement during the Friday, March 21, episode of Jenna & Friends, where she made the big announcement alongside her temporary cohost and actress Brooke Shields. "Next week is family week!" Jenna exclaimed, though she admitted to feeling a little nervous. "I’m a little freaked out," she confessed, sharing the stage with her loved ones.
Henry, 46, is set to take a seat next to Jenna for the episodes airing on March 27 and 28. Jenna revealed that just thinking about having her hubby as a cohost had her blushing. "He’s prepping, he’s been texting with all of the producers. He has ideas, I don’t know any of them," Jenna told Brooke, 59. She added that Henry was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the role but was ready to dive in headfirst. "I think it’s gonna be slightly wild," Jenna joked.

Brooke teased Jenna about potentially creating a monster with Henry's debut, saying, "He’s gonna be like, I got some notes for you!" But Jenna's family doesn't stop with Henry. Her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, and cousins Wendy Stapleton and Sam Bush LeBlond, will also join in as cohosts throughout the week.
Barbara, 43, will take the reins on March 24 and 25, followed by Wendy and Sam on March 26. The official Jenna & Friends Instagram account announced, "Y’all have been asking to see @jennabhager’s family in the co-hosting chair, and now it’s time! Don’t miss family week on #JennaandFriends starting Mon., March 24!"
Wendy couldn’t contain her excitement, commenting on the post, "Can’t wait to cohost with cousin Sam who has agreed to go on air in tiger print hot pants." Fans of the show are thrilled with the all-in-the-family lineup, with many requesting a special appearance from Jenna’s dad, former President George W. Bush.
A fan wrote, "I agree with everyone, your dad should host! It’d also be great to see him with Michelle [Obama] in a segment or co-hosting as well." The fan added, "Those two are funny separately and hilarious together." While Henry’s cohosting debut will be his first, the Today show set has been a family affair, with Jenna’s kids, Mila, 11, Poppy, 9, and son Hal, 5, making appearances.
Jenna revealed in January that Mila is the only one of their children showing interest in following in her footsteps. However, Henry put a pause on her privileges to visit the set. "They’re not jumping, but I may push them like I’ve done my whole life," Jenna told E! News. "You know who really wants to do it? Mila Hager." But Mila has to learn a thing or two about on-camera etiquette after sharing a story about Jenna peeing her pants during a laugh-filled moment at home.
In December 2022, Mila joined Jenna and her mom’s former cohost, Hoda Kotb, on camera. After Hoda admitted her favorite thing about Jenna was her uncontrollable laughter, Mila shared, "Yeah, one time she was laughing in our living room and she peed her pants!" Jenna joked about Mila’s lifetime ban from the set, saying, "We’ll see if that’s lifted, maybe for bring your kids to work day."

Despite the occasional on-air mishaps, Henry remains a supportive husband to Jenna’s career. Jenna told temporary cohost and country star Kelsea Ballerini, "Part of [a healthy relationship] is choosing the right person because they make you feel — they’re supportive. But they also make you feel like you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing because then you can do it well."
