He’s a legend in the sports world, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, a top TV sports commentator, a Hollywood movie star, a cattle rancher, and now… a singer? That’s right, folks. Even long-time fans of the ex-Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Terry Bradshaw, were surprised when he stepped into the spotlight as a vocalist on Fox’s hit competition series The Masked Singer back in January. This wasn’t his first foray into music, though—he actually released his debut country album I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry way back in 1976.
In a candid conversation with Closer Weekly, Terry, now 70, opens up about what truly makes him happy. “Singing and making people laugh, that’s where I feel most at home,” he exclusively reveals. “There’s so much negativity swirling around these days, and I just love spreading joy and happiness wherever I can.”
With that spirit, Terry’s diving headfirst into new ventures, booking a limited engagement of The Terry Bradshaw Show at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He’s also planning more shows for next year and recently filmed a new reality show pilot featuring his wife, Tammy, daughters Erin and Rachel, and stepdaughter Lacey. Closer Weekly caught up with Terry to chat about his health, his 18-year marriage to Tammy, and some of the funniest moments he’s experienced on live TV.

Getting back on stage and performing in Las Vegas felt incredible. Back in the day, we did two nights at the Mirage about five years ago, and it sparked our touring journey. But life happens—when we lost my son-in-law [Rob Bironas, Rachel’s husband, in a tragic car accident in 2014], we put the brakes on everything. We needed to ensure Rachel was doing okay before jumping back into the spotlight. Luckily, MGM and Luxor saw potential and gave us the green light when Carrot Top stepped aside. It was a dream come true!
We’re truly sorry for your loss. How are you holding up these days?
Right now, I’m in a great place—peaceful and content. Turning 70 was a milestone, and it’s the perfect time to take on projects people might not expect from me. Life is all about reinvention, and I’m embracing every moment.
You know what made the '70s so special for me? Being the quarterback for a team that won four Super Bowls and never lost a single one. That’s the yardstick by which we’re measured, and honestly? Mission accomplished! [Laughs heartily]
