Food Network star Bobby Flay recently shared some candid thoughts about love, marriage, and the future. In a heartfelt conversation on Kristin Cavallari's "Let’s Be Honest" podcast, the 59-year-old chef revealed that he doesn’t see himself walking down the aisle anytime soon. With three divorces under his belt and a busy life as a culinary icon, Bobby has some interesting perspectives on relationships and what he truly values in life.
Kristin Cavallari, known for her sharp questions and relatable conversations, wasted no time diving into the topic of love. She asked Bobby directly if he could ever see himself getting married again. This wasn’t just small talk—it was a chance to explore the thoughts of a man who has experienced the highs and lows of love more than once.
“Is it completely off the table? If you ask me today, I’d say probably, yes,” Bobby admitted. “For me, marriage hasn’t exactly been a smooth ride. That said, I don’t feel like I need to rush into it again. I’ve got an incredible daughter, Sophie, who’s 28 years old. And as far as I know, I’m not planning to have any more kids.”

But Bobby wasn’t completely shutting the door on love. “I’d absolutely be open to having a life partner,” he clarified. “But I don’t think the official paperwork is necessary. There’s something about the commitment that changes things, and not always for the better.”
Bobby’s journey in love has been anything but simple. He’s been married three times, each with its own story. His first marriage to Debra Ponzek ended in 1993 after just two years. Then came his second marriage to Kate Connelly, which lasted from 1995 to 1998, during which they welcomed their daughter, Sophie. His third marriage to Stephanie March lasted a decade before they parted ways in 2015.
When Kristin asked if there were common threads in his divorces, Bobby reflected deeply. “They were all so different,” he explained. “I’ve now been single for a decade, and honestly, I’m more comfortable this way. There’s less pressure. Once you sign that piece of paper, something shifts. It’s hard to explain to someone who’s never been married, but trust me, there’s a difference.”
Bobby’s most recent romance with Christina Pérez seemed promising at first. For three years, they were a couple that many admired. “She’s just wonderful,” Bobby gushed in 2021. “My life is so hectic, but she’s always the calm and light at the end of the day for me.”
However, things came to an end in June 2024, and Bobby found himself single again. When asked about it, he kept things light. “I’m just taking it easy right now,” he told People. “It’s still kind of new, and I’m just looking forward to hitting the golf course this week.”
Not long after the breakup, Bobby took his daughter Sophie to the Olympics for a special father-daughter outing. “Sophie practically claimed my plus-one spot the moment I got the invite,” he joked. “She’s been to the Olympics twice before, so she knows everyone there. Honestly, I’ll probably just be tagging along behind her.”
