On March 4, 1994, the world lost a comedic giant when John Candy suffered a heart attack in his sleep while filming Wagons East in Mexico. The news was a devastating blow to his costars and the entire film crew. Frank Hober, Rosemary’s older brother, expressed the family’s shock and grief at the time, saying, “None of us believed it would happen. The whole family is in turmoil.”

The film was eventually released five months after John’s death and was dedicated to his memory, honoring the incredible talent and warmth he brought to every project he touched.
