A Family Built on Love: Kirstie Alley and Parker Stevenson’s Adoption Journey

Kirstie Alley, born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, found love with Hardy Boys actor Parker Stevenson. Together, they embarked on a journey of family-building through adoption. In October 1992, they welcomed their son William into their lives, followed by daughter Lillie in 1995. Although Kirstie and Parker divorced in 1997, their bond as parents remained strong. Unfortunately, the couple did not have biological children together, though Kirstie experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage during their marriage.

Before Parker, Kirstie was married to Bob Alley from 1970 to 1977. Despite their years together, the couple never had children, allowing Kirstie to focus on her budding acting career and later, her role as a devoted mother.

Kirstie’s joy knew no bounds when her son William welcomed his own son, Waylon Tripp Parker, in June 2016. Taking to Twitter, Kirstie announced the happy news with excitement: “When your son has a son … bliss … yes this is my secret happy news as promised … Welcome Waylon Tripp Parker.” Alongside the tweet, the It Takes Two star shared a touching black-and-white photo of William and Waylon cuddling, showcasing the deep connection between the two.

Never one to shy away from expressing her pride, Kirstie quickly followed up her announcement with another photo, captioning it, “Just GOTTA send one more … proud Gammy.” Kirstie’s role as a grandmother expanded further when her daughter Lillie gave birth to a son, Ripp Woodrow Graham, with her partner, Chaffee Burkhart Graham, in May 2021. This addition to the family made Kirstie a grandmother once again, and she embraced the role with all her heart.

Throughout her life, Kirstie always prioritized her role as a mother. In a 2006 interview with People, she revealed, “My best quality is that I’m a good mother.” Despite her larger-than-life career, Kirstie’s true legacy lies in her dedication to her family, proving that even the brightest stars can shine brightest at home.
