According to her friends, Debra sees marriage as an “antiquated institution.” Let’s rewind for a moment. Debra’s 16-year marriage to Daniel, who’s a talented actor, screenwriter, television producer, and director, came to an end in March 2016. The couple met as graduate students at New York University way back in 1990 and tied the knot in September 2000. Their son, Roman, was born in April 2004, and he’s the apple of both their eyes.

Thankfully, Debra and Daniel have managed to keep things civil. Debra’s life is a whirlwind, and she’s always on the go. “I never stop. I work all the time. I’m always involved with something,” she admitted. However, she’s learned a valuable lesson over the years: knowing her limits. “It took me a long time,” she confessed. Despite her packed schedule, Debra always finds time for her 13-year-old son, Roman. “I never spend enough time with my son. Never. I always want more,” she said. Roman’s a real character, by the way. This summer, he attended a stand-up comedy school, and his mom couldn’t be prouder. “You can see Debra is just so proud of him,” revealed her hairstylist, Luke O’Connor, to Closer.

With her career busier than ever, Debra admits it’s tough to balance everything. “I am a success when I feel like I have a balance of the things that are important to me. It’s an act of balance,” she explained.
