Sam Champion has been living life to the fullest these days! The ever-popular meteorologist recently hopped on a flight with his Good Morning America co-stars to the sun-drenched Bahamas for a much-needed getaway. It's not every day that you get to see such a tight-knit group of TV personalities unwind together off-screen, and this trip was nothing short of memorable.

Who Was Part of This Star-Studded Getaway?

Sam, who recently turned 62, wasn’t alone on this tropical adventure. He brought along his husband, Rubem Robierb, adding a personal touch to the trip. Also tagging along were Emily Kaufman, Robin Roberts, and her lovely wife, Amber Laign. And let’s not forget Gio Benitez and his partner, Tommy DiDario. It’s worth mentioning that Robin and Amber just tied the knot in September 2023, and several of their GMA co-stars were there to witness their special day. The camaraderie and bond these folks share outside the studio is truly heartwarming.

Tommy DiDario couldn’t resist sharing the joy of their trip with his followers. He captioned a group photo from the getaway on Instagram, saying, “The tradition continues. Sam's Busy Schedule and Travel Between Cities

As much as this trip was a blast, it wasn’t the only destination Sam has visited recently. After filling in on GMA multiple times this month, he’s been traveling back and forth between New York City and Miami to spend quality time with Rubem. They own homes in both cities and have mastered the art of splitting their time between the two. Imagine juggling all that while maintaining a successful career on national television!

Sam admitted that stepping into the role of a part-time cohost on GMA was more demanding than he anticipated. On March 18, he took some much-needed time off. During an Instagram Live Q&A session, he opened up to his followers about how much he needed this break. He said, “Three weeks straight of everyday television, I needed some time off, so this is just my normal Monday off, but it feels like I’m on vacation for just one day.”

In a previous conversation with his fans, Sam addressed the question of whether he would be returning to GMA full-time or sticking to his part-time schedule. “No, it’s just been filling in for a lot of people who have been gone and then the projects that I’ve been doing for ABC have been keeping me busy, so in theory, still part-time, but it’s a lot,” he explained on March 1.

Sam often steps in for Ginger Zee when she’s away on vacation, dealing with illness, or out on assignment. Despite his love for travel, when asked about retirement plans, Sam had an intriguing response. “That’s really very nice, super kind of you to say,” he said. “I have no idea what the time frame is.”
