In a recent chat with the local Cincinnati WXIX outlet, Nick shared that just two hours after Amal gave birth in the UK, they Skyped with George and Amal to get a glimpse of the new additions. Talk about a modern family moment!

First Impressions from Grandpa Nick

During that heartwarming Skype call, Nick couldn’t contain his excitement. “They are gorgeous,” he exclaimed. And if you’re wondering what they look like, well, according to Nick, little Alexander has inherited George’s nose. “Nina swears they have George’s nose—not both of them, just one,” Nick revealed. “The little boy looked like he had [George’s] nose, his little profile.” How cute is that?!

And it’s not just their looks that have everyone talking. Nick also shared that the twins have dark hair, just like their stunning barrister mom, Amal. “I love their names, Alexander and Ella,” he added. “Both sound terrific.” It’s clear that Nick is as smitten with the babies as the rest of us are with their parents.

Amal, the Superwoman Mom

When it comes to the new mom, Nick had nothing but praise. “Amal is doing terrifically well,” he said. “She was a superwoman during the delivery.” And if you’re wondering about George, well, Nick joked that his son looked a little shell-shocked. “George — his eyes were glazed, so I’m not sure that he was sober. Now that’s a joke!” he quipped. But seriously, can you blame him? Becoming a dad to twins is a life-changing moment!

Nick also shared with People magazine, “What I saw were these two perfect, picture-postcard babies. They were two great-looking babies!” It’s clear that the Clooney family is thrilled with their newest members.

Now, Nick admitted that he and Nina weren’t always sure George would become a dad. But then Amal came into the picture, and everything changed. “When we met Amal, we got that figured out in a hurry,” Nick said. “Just as I, George married up. When Will Nick and Nina Meet the Twins?
