Why 'Three's Company' Continues To Charm Us Decades Later

Let’s take a trip down memory lane for a moment. It’s been well over three decades since the curtain came down on Three's Company, but guess what? The show is still lighting up our screens and bringing joy to millions of fans. Over eight seasons, from 1977 to 1984, the hilarious antics of Jack Tripper (played by the late John Ritter), Janet Wood (Joyce DeWitt), and Chrissy Snow (Suzanne Somers) left an indelible mark on television history. Their laughter-filled escapades were so iconic that they even inspired spin-offs like Three's a Crowd and The Ropers.

Memories That Last a Lifetime

There’s something magical about how the creators of Three's Company knew they were onto something special right from the start. In a heartfelt interview with ABC News, Suzanne Somers reminisced about the show’s inception. “I remember them saying on the first day of the table reading, ‘This show is going to be a powerhouse,’” she recalled. “I couldn’t fully grasp that vision back then, but looking back, they truly understood what they had. All I feel now is immense gratitude and luck for being part of something that continues to warm people’s hearts. Isn’t that incredible?”

John Ritter’s legacy lives on through his son, Jason Ritter, who openly shares his admiration for his late father. In a candid conversation with Closer Weekly, Jason confessed how he finds solace in revisiting the classic episodes of Three's Company. “Every day, I feel his presence,” he said. “Sometimes, I’ll just turn on the TV and catch an old episode. I never miss the chance to watch it. Occasionally, I stumble upon an episode I haven’t seen before, and that’s always a treat. It’s a beautiful way to keep his memory alive.”

Jason went on to express his bittersweet feelings about his father’s passing. “Of course, I wish things could have been different. My dad was an extraordinary man, and I miss him every single day,” he admitted. “But now, I focus on being happy. That’s what he would have wanted. I try to live my life as honestly and simply as possible.” John tragically passed away in 2003 at the age of 54 during heart surgery, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire.
