Jerry O'Connell Eyes Bravo Gig After The Talk Ends

Setting His Sights on Bravo

When the curtain fell on the daytime show The Talk, Jerry O'Connell wasn't left feeling down. Instead, the 50-year-old TV host turned his focus toward a new opportunity with Bravo, teasing his interest in becoming part of their lineup. In a recent chat with Us Weekly, Jerry joked about joining a unique Bravo show. “Maybe I can be the first Real Househusband who’s a cast member,” he said with a laugh. “I want a diamond! That would be really fun. I think I’d do a great job.”

Rebecca Romijn Stays Private

While Jerry's enthusiasm for Bravo is high, don't expect his wife, Rebecca Romijn, to join him in the spotlight. Speaking to the same outlet, Jerry revealed that Rebecca isn't interested in a spot on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. “She won’t do it,” Jerry explained. “She's a much more private person than I am. I think she’d rather stay out of the public eye.”

Still, that didn't stop Jerry from pitching Rebecca during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen back in October 2022. “I’m actually here to talk to Andy tonight about possibly an open seat on the Beverly Hills Housewives,” he joked during the episode. “Let’s get a shot of the possible future of Beverly Hills.”

Despite his love for the Housewives franchise, Jerry admitted he might be a better fan than a cast member. “If I got booed at Bravocon, I would leave the country,” he confessed to Us Weekly. “I would be gone. I don’t know if I could handle it, but Lisa Rinna handles it really well.”

His passion for the show was one of the reasons Jerry was chosen to join The Talk as the first male panelist in 2021, stepping in as Sharon Osbourne's replacement. An insider shared with Closer that Jerry quickly became a favorite among the cast. “Everyone likes him. He’s a professional and a good guy,” the source noted.

Further insight into Jerry's personality came from another source who highlighted his charm and humor. “Jerry doesn’t have one enemy in this town. He’s funny. He loves discussing pop culture and hot topics,” they added.

    Challenges at The Talk

Unfortunately, The Talk faced its own set of challenges. In March, a second insider told Closer that tensions were running high among the cast, including Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood, following CBS's announcement of a new Black soap opera. “Things changed. The network no longer prioritized it. The advertising budget was reduced as ratings declined,” the source revealed. “If the new soap is a hit, there will be more that follow. Today, The Talk is in trouble. Tomorrow it could be The View!”

CBS officially announced the cancellation of The Talk on April 12, marking season 15 as the show's final chapter. CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach and CBS Studios president David Stapf praised the show in a statement. “The Talk broke new ground when it launched 14 years ago by returning daytime talk to CBS with a refreshing and award-winning format,” they said. “Throughout the years, it has been a key program on CBS’ top rated daytime line-up as it brought timely, important and entertaining topics and discussions into living rooms around the globe.”

Jerry reacted to the cancellation the following day on Instagram, writing, “Fun times! Let’s have a great season!” The final episode aired on December 20.
