Katharine accepted this unconventional arrangement, insisting she never wanted to marry Spencer or have children with him. Till Death Do Us Part

Despite the challenges, Katharine remained devoted to Spencer. Even on set, she acted as his caregiver, ensuring he had everything he needed—milk for his ulcer, coffee to keep him going, and plenty of praise. She was always there for him, even when things got tough. And tough they did get. Spencer had a notorious affair with Ingrid Bergman, which left Katharine bitter. “She wasn’t a fan of Bergman,” Christopher shares. “And she held that grudge for the rest of her life.”

But through it all, Katharine stayed faithful. On the night Spencer passed away, she was by his side. Out of respect for Louise, she didn’t attend the funeral but instead visited the mortuary to say her final goodbyes. “She watched as they placed his coffin into the hearse,” Christopher recounts. “That was her way of saying goodbye.”
