Kelly Reilly may be known for her fiery portrayal of Beth Dutton on the hit series Yellowstone, but her real-life relationship with husband Kyle Baugher couldn't be more different. In a rare and candid interview, the English actress opened up about her private life, offering fans a glimpse into the personal side of the star they don't often see. Kelly, who's been married to Kyle since 2012, shared how their love story began and why their marriage remains her greatest joy.
Before Yellowstone came into her life, Kelly, now 47, had dreams of returning to her theater roots and relocating back to England with her husband. For her, acting was always a passion, but the industry's demands sometimes felt overwhelming. "I’ve always adored my job, but there are moments when the business throws challenges my way that make me question if I’m cut out for it," she explained in an interview with Town & Country. "I wanted to step back, focus on theater, and perform in two or three plays a year. That seemed like the perfect life to me—a quiet, fulfilling existence."
Life took a dramatic turn for Kelly when she landed the role of Beth Dutton in Yellowstone. She recalled the moment she first read the script, which coincided with a major life change. "I was packing up our apartment when I read it, and I remember thinking, 'Oh, s--t.' It felt like a challenge being thrown my way, and that challenge sparked my interest," she said. That pivotal moment changed everything for her, propelling her into one of television's most iconic roles.

Despite the whirlwind success brought by Yellowstone, Kelly has managed to keep her personal life private and focused on what truly matters. She and Kyle now split their time between homes in New York and England, allowing them to enjoy the best of both worlds. "I don’t engage with the noise or drama surrounding the show. My sanctuary is my work and my home with Kyle. It may sound boring, but that’s where I find my peace," she revealed.
In a world filled with distractions and superficiality, Kelly remains grounded. "It’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of this industry, but I know my worth doesn’t come from that. The only place I feel truly safe is with my husband and in the work I do," she added. Her ability to stay focused and maintain perspective is a testament to her strength and character.
Kelly’s journey to finding love with Kyle is as fascinating as her career. On November 14, she appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she spoke about Kyle's unwavering support. "He’s here somewhere. He’s probably hiding now. He’s in the building. So, yeah, I’ve been married for 12 wonderful years," she told Drew Barrymore. Their meeting was pure serendipity. "We met at his brother’s wedding. A girlfriend of mine invited me to a wedding in Marfa, Texas. She said, 'Do you want to go on a road trip?' And I thought, why not? Her boyfriend was out of town, so I got to be the plus one," Kelly recounted.
She added, "I was a bit of a hot mess that day. I’d been riding horses that morning and still had leather on my hands. I thought Kyle was Texan because the wedding was in Texas, but he’s actually from Long Island. He turned out to be the love of my life, and our marriage is the most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me."
