According to the network's press release, the season 7 finale is titled “Welcome to Pomp and Circumstance.” It's an episode filled with fun and meaningful moments that promise to leave a lasting impression on fans.

Here’s what the episode description says: “Tina and Gemma plan a joint graduation party for Malcolm and Grover, on part one of the hour-long seventh season finale of the CBS Original series THE NEIGHBORHOOD, airing Monday, May 5 (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs).”

Season Seven: A Year Full of Laughter and Love

This penultimate season has been an absolute delight, filled with hilarious bits and unforgettable moments that have kept fans coming back for more. The talented cast, including Cedric the Entertainer, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, Tichina Arnold, Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears, and Skye Townsend, have brought the show to life with their incredible performances.

On March 10, CBS announced that The Neighborhood would be returning for an eighth and final season. Fans were thrilled to hear the news, but naturally, there’s a tinge of sadness knowing it’s the last hurrah for these beloved characters.

A Heartfelt Farewell from CBS

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, had this to say in a statement: “The brilliant cast and creative team at THE NEIGHBORHOOD, led by the incomparable Cedric the Entertainer, have brought levity, laughter, and poignant storylines to Monday nights for seven incredible seasons. Beth Behrs, who plays Gemma, took to Instagram to express her feelings about the show's upcoming finale. At 39, she’s had an incredible journey with The Neighborhood, following her time on 2 Broke Girls, which aired on CBS for six seasons from 2011 to 2017. Beth shared, “Most of my 20s were on #2BrokeGirls, almost all of my 30s were on #TheNeighborhood, and I’ll usher in my 40s as we end our story. @katdenningsss and I never got a goodbye or an end to our #2BrokeGirls story, and I’m just so grateful to @cbstv for a chance to say goodbye to GEMMA the right way.”

She continued, “These last 7 years with my @theneighborhood family has been some of the most memorable of my life. We made it through Covid, strikes, elections… and came out stronger. Forever grateful to our entire cast and crew—here’s to the best season yet! #SEASON8 let’s gooooo.”

Fans React to the Final Season Announcement

The Neighborhood’s official Instagram page announced the eighth and final season on March 10, saying, “Swipe for some big news—#TheNeighborhood has been renewed for an 8th and final season!”
