Country music legend Faith Hill is finding herself missing her late mother, Edna Perry, more than ever as the world navigates the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Friday, May 8, Faith shared some deeply personal thoughts about the incredible bond she had with her mom. It's a story that resonates with so many of us who cherish those special connections in life.
At 52 years old, Faith Hill is using her platform to remind everyone just how precious these moments are. "Don't wait another minute. Call your mom, today!!!!" she passionately urged her followers. Faith lost her mom a few years ago, and she's feeling that absence even more now. "Let me just be brutally honest right now. I need to talk to my mom during this time," she confessed. Faith paints a vivid picture of her mom as a strong, smart, hardworking, and pragmatic woman whose strength came from her unwavering faith. "She taught my brothers and me to treat everyone with respect and equality. She was frugal, never wasting a thing. The food we grew up eating came from our own yard because that's what we could afford. She was a straight shooter, always speaking honestly and directly," Faith reminisced with love and admiration.
In her Instagram post, Faith included a touching tribute alongside the cover art for her husband Tim McGraw's new song, "I Called Mama." She shared a snippet of the heartfelt tune, expressing her gratitude to Tim. "Thank you, my love, for this song," she wrote, adding another layer of emotion to her message.

Edna Perry passed away from ovarian cancer in November 2016 at the age of 80. At the time, Faith shared her grief with her fans on Instagram. "As you may have heard, my mom passed away on Sunday and was laid to rest this morning," she said. "While this is a difficult time for our family, we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven and no longer suffering. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers." Edna and her husband, Wesley "Ted" Perry, adopted Faith as a baby, raising her in what Faith describes as a "good Christian, God-fearing home." In a 2006 interview with Larry King, Faith credited her upbringing with her parents and brothers for the strong foundation that has guided her successful career in the often-unpredictable world of entertainment.
"I was placed into an incredible home that is basically responsible for the way I am today and the backbone that I have in order to do this for a living," Faith explained. "The music industry can be a crazy, sometimes unstable world, but the most important thing to me has always been my family. That lesson was definitely taught to me by my mom and dad." It's clear that Edna must be looking down with immense pride at everything her daughter has achieved.
