So, what’s in store for the midseason premiere? CBS has given us a sneak peek into what's coming up in the new episode titled 'The Disciple.' This episode dives deep into the disappearance of Gina Picket, a case that's been haunting our protagonist, Colter Shaw. The show's creators have promised an intense storyline that brings back fan-favorite retired cop Keaton, played by the talented Brent Sexton. Together, they'll embark on a high-stakes mission to track down a notorious serial killer. It’s going to be intense, folks!
Before the big premiere, we got a chance to hear from the man himself, Justin Hartley, who stars as Colter Shaw. In a recent interview with TV Insider, Justin opened up about the challenges and excitement of filming the new season. He mentioned that this time around, the episode order is bigger, which presents its own set of challenges. But for Justin, it’s all about pushing his limits. “There’s more physicality in certain episodes. The fights certainly are more physical, but I don’t mind a bruise here or there,” he said. Clearly, Justin's committed to bringing Colter Shaw's story to life in the most authentic way possible.
When asked about the future of 'Tracker,' Justin expressed his hopes for long-term character development. "If we're lucky enough to do a third season, a fourth season, a fifth season, a sixth season, that would be wonderful," he said. Drawing parallels to his previous work on 'This Is Us,' Justin emphasized the importance of character growth over time. "I think the show works in the long run in that we have adopted this idea that although we are a 'Rockford Files' type show, we do develop the character going forward," he explained.
Justin also shared his vision for Colter Shaw's evolution. "As competent and confident as Colter is, I don’t at all think for a second that he doesn’t have a ton to learn, especially about himself and his family and all that," he noted. "Going forward, I think that will be how the show lives on a long runway, is that we keep developing this character and he becomes better at what he’s doing. He’s a restless man, and for an audience member, at least shows that I love to watch, you love to see that growth of a character and we have that." Sounds like we're in for an unforgettable journey with Colter Shaw!
