There’s something truly special about a mother who loves having her family close. Jenny McCarthy is all about that, and she’s made it clear that she’d love nothing more than for her son, Evan, to stay under her roof forever. As a judge on The Masked Singer, Jenny has a lot going on, but her family always comes first. In a candid interview with People, she shared her heartfelt feelings about keeping her family close.

During a chat with People published on March 27, the vibrant 51-year-old mom opened up about her desire for Evan to stick around. "I keep telling Evan, ‘I want you to live with me forever! I absolutely adore having you here,'" she said with a laugh. It's not just about convenience; it's about the joy of having her son nearby, creating memories and continuing to grow together as a family.

Evan's Return Home: A New Chapter

At 21 years old, Evan has recently moved back home with his mom and stepdad, Donnie Wahlberg, after finishing college. While Jenny dreams of him staying home for as long as possible, Evan has his own plans. "He keeps telling me, ‘I’ll give you two years,'" Jenny joked to People. "I’m like, ‘Thanks, buddy.’" It’s clear that while Jenny cherishes every moment with her son, she also respects his independence and future aspirations.

Evan's New Role on The Masked Singer

Interestingly, Evan has landed a job as a production assistant on The Masked Singer, the very show his mom judges. Jenny couldn’t be prouder of her son’s involvement in the show. "Having Evan around has been a game changer for both of us," she told Access Hollywood in October 2023. "It's been amazing to see him grow in confidence and take pride in his work. Watching him thrive has been incredibly rewarding for me."

Evan’s responsibilities on the show are diverse, ranging from hyping up the audience to helping out backstage. As a people person, he’s quickly become a beloved member of the team. During an appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna in September 2023, Jenny gushed about her son’s newfound professionalism. "They gave him a walkie-talkie with an earpiece, and he looks so professional," she said with a smile. "He takes his role seriously and even jokes about protecting me on set. It’s been such a heartwarming experience."

Family Ties and Traditions

Alongside Evan, whom she shares with her ex-husband John Asher, Jenny is also a stepmom to Donnie’s two older sons, Xavier and Elijah, from his marriage to Kimberly Fey. Donnie, 54, is incredibly grateful for Jenny’s role in his family. "Besides being the best wife I could ever imagine having, she’s also the best stepmom and mother," he told Us Weekly in November 2019. "She’s a great partner, and having someone to build traditions with my children is probably the thing I’m most grateful for."

Donnie emphasizes the importance of creating lasting traditions with his children. "Now our kids are seeing through both of our experiences, the struggles we faced early on, and the past relationships we’ve had, to see us building something beautiful together," he said. "It’s about creating a family that our kids can look up to and pass on to their own children. There’s so much to be grateful for in this new chapter of our lives."
